Leviner receives sentence May 6

A former Alexander County Schools principal, who was arrested as part of the “Operation Ice Breaker” case in 2006 involving thirteen people accused of trafficking methamphetamine, was sentenced Tuesday, May 6, in United States Western District Court in Statesville, Judge Richard L. Voorhees presiding.
Earlier, Craig Daniel Leviner, age 46, had pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine (a Schedule II Controlled Substance). He was sentenced to 36 months in prison with three years of supervised release at the end of the prison term. He was also ordered to pay a $100 court fee, according to Tammy Gryder, Docket Clerk in the U.S. Western District Court.
