Kids in the Park program
slated for 7 Wednesdays
Officials of First United Methodist Church announced plans for their third year offering of “Kids in the Park”. The theme will be “Olymperrifics 2008 - Everyone who trusts in God takes home the gold”.
Rev. Lory Beth Huffman extended an invitation to all elementary age children to come to Matheson Park for some major fun.
“Join us for games, Bible Stories, music, crafts, snacks and tons of Olympic fun as we learn how traits that athletes have to compete in the Olympics are similar to traits God encourages in each one of us,” Huffman said.
Kids in the Park will run each Wednesday starting July 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. through August 20. Adults and youth from First United Methodist Church will be designing and running the program and all elementary children are invited to come and participate.
Tim Lee, director of Children and Youth Ministries at First UMC said, “We want every kid to know that they are a winner when they trust in God and have a knock-down, bang-up, fantastic time doing it!”
In addition to the program for children, there will be something for adults to participate in while waiting on the kids.
